About Patamali

Stay longer. Live better. Build Africa.

Patamali is an African accommodation platform designed for 30+ day furnished stays — built for a new way of living, working, and moving across the world.

We connect global travelers — mainly from North America, Europe, China, and India — with high-quality furnished homes across Africa. But beyond that, we are rethinking how value flows through the continent.

Because today, something doesn’t add up.

About Patamali

The shift that’s already happening

People are no longer traveling the same way. Remote work has untethered millions from a fixed location, and longer stays are quietly replacing short visits. Increasingly, people don’t just want to pass through a place—they want to live in it, understand it, and become part of it, even if only for a few months.

Africa is part of this shift. Interest is rising, talent is moving, and global attention is growing.

But the infrastructure hasn’t caught up.

The hidden problem

While billions are spent on accommodation across Africa every year, a significant portion of that value is still captured outside the continent. Platforms built elsewhere extract a large share of the economics, leaving local hosts with less than they should earn and limiting how much of that value compounds within African communities.

This is not just a market inefficiency—it’s a structural problem.

What Patamali does differently

Patamali is built from the ground up for long-term living in Africa.

Instead of optimizing for nightly bookings and constant turnover, we focus on furnished stays of 30 days or more. This changes everything. Guests settle in. Hosts operate with more stability. The experience becomes closer to living than visiting.

At the same time, we’ve designed the platform around fairer economics. With a simple commission of around 10%, hosts keep significantly more of what they earn. That income doesn’t disappear into global systems—it stays local, where it can be reinvested, scaled, and felt.

Built from real experience

Patamali isn’t an abstract idea.

We are hosts ourselves, actively operating furnished rental properties in Nairobi. We’ve dealt with the realities—pricing, guest expectations, operational challenges, and the importance of consistent income.

That experience shapes every decision we make. The platform is not designed in isolation, but grounded in what actually works on the ground.

A different kind of platform

Most accommodation platforms were built for tourism.

Patamali is built for living.

That distinction matters. It influences how properties are selected, how pricing works, how guests behave, and ultimately how value is created and distributed. By focusing on longer stays and aligning incentives with hosts, we are creating a system where global demand translates more directly into local opportunity.

Where this is going

Patamali is not just a marketplace. It is the foundation for a broader ecosystem around long-term stays in Africa—one that will extend into services, mobility, and financial flows over time.

The goal is simple but ambitious: to make it as seamless to live in Africa for a few months as it is to book a short trip anywhere else in the world—and to ensure that the economic value created along the way remains rooted in the continent.

Why now

The timing is not accidental. Remote work has gone global. Long stays are becoming the norm for a growing segment of travelers. At the same time, Africa is entering a new phase of visibility and economic relevance.

Patamali sits at the intersection of these forces.

What we believe

We believe that where money flows matters. We believe that platforms should create value—not just extract it. And we believe that Africa should not only be visited, but lived in.

Stay longer. Live better. Build Africa.
