We connect global travelers — mainly from North America, Europe, China, and India — with high-quality furnished homes across Africa. But beyond that, we are rethinking how value flows through the continent.

People are no longer traveling the same way. Remote work has untethered millions from a fixed location, and longer stays are quietly replacing short visits. Increasingly, people don’t just want to pass through a place—they want to live in it, understand it, and become part of it, even if only for a few months.
Africa is part of this shift. Interest is rising, talent is moving, and global attention is growing.
But the infrastructure hasn’t caught up.

While billions are spent on accommodation across Africa every year, a significant portion of that value is still captured outside the continent. Platforms built elsewhere extract a large share of the economics, leaving local hosts with less than they should earn and limiting how much of that value compounds within African communities.

At the same time, we’ve designed the platform around fairer economics. With a simple commission of around 10%, hosts keep significantly more of what they earn. That income doesn’t disappear into global systems—it stays local, where it can be reinvested, scaled, and felt.
Built from real experience
Patamali isn’t an abstract idea.
We are hosts ourselves, actively operating furnished rental properties in Nairobi. We’ve dealt with the realities—pricing, guest expectations, operational challenges, and the importance of consistent income.
That experience shapes every decision we make. The platform is not designed in isolation, but grounded in what actually works on the ground.
